182m credits have been awarded over 15 years This theoretically represents 182m tCO₂-e. As a comparison Australia’s reported corporate scope 1 and 2 emissions are currently about 370m tCO₂-e.
As of this video, a total of 2923 ACCU projects have been registered with 2533 of these still active, and roughly one third of these having been awarded credits.
The video also shows how the scheme has evolved over time, from a relatively small number of land based projects into a much broader mix of methods, regions and project proponents. While issuance volumes remain concentrated across a smaller number of large projects and methods, the scale and diversity of participation across the market has increased significantly.
